Ansarada integration is now generally available (GA) in Emma. All customers can connect an Ansarada data room directly, without requesting access or waiting for approval.
Watch this short video to see how to connect Ansarada with the Emma platform:
---
1. Setup of the integration
For the integration between Ansarada and Emma to work, you need to be added to the Ansarada Platform as a user. The user is identified through the e-mail address e.g. [email protected].
You will receive a welcome message to verify your e-mail address:
Once you have been verified, you will be added to the Data Room of Ansarada. You can see this by visiting https://dash.ansarada.com and clicking on the data room. Once you have clicked, you will see this screen:
In the above data room there have been added 2 buy-side guests. If these guests are also a user within the Emma Platform (e.g. [email protected]), they can access the data room and sync with the Emma platform.
2. Important update: Folder/document numbering and hierarchy import
Emma now supports provider index numbers (also called document/folder numbers) when importing folders and documents from Ansarada data rooms. This means:
When you select folders or documents to import, Emma records each item's current index number from the data room. This helps maintain the order and sourcing fidelity you see in Ansarada.
If an item is renumbered in Ansarada, Emma will update its number accordingly on the next sync.
Nested folders and direct document selection
When you select and import a nested folder or document directly (e.g., you select only a subfolder or a file deep within the structure, without checking its parent), Emma will now preserve the full original hierarchy for those items. Their source folder structure is rebuilt in Emma, even if you did not select the parent folder in the picker. This keeps your Emma project accurately aligned with the organization of materials in Ansarada.
Previously, importing a single document or folder without its parent could lead to a mismatch or flattening of the structure. Now, Emma will recreate all the missing ancestor folders in your workspace as needed, so the full path is consistent with what you see in the data room.
Comparison: DealCentre sync path improvements
A similar update applies to DealCentre connections. Emma resolves and rebuilds the folder/document paths when you select individual documents or subfolders, ensuring both the correct position and index number are maintained—even if you did not select their entire parent path. This improves the consistency and accuracy of your imported DealCentre files and folders.
3. FAQ - Ansarada connection
Q1: Can I use the connection when being on the Buy-side, i.e. not being the administrator of the data room on Ansarada?
A1: Yes, you can be either Sell-side or Buy-side. As long as you are a user within the Ansarada platform and a user within the Emma platform, you can use the connection.
Q2: Do I need to have administrator rights within Ansarada to access the connection from within Emma?
A2: No, this is not needed, but you do need to request to disable the security controls.
Q3: Can Emma read my files if security controls are enabled?
A3: Emma cannot read files with the security controls enabled as Emma works within the browser and the document will show as below:
We recommend that you ask the sell side to disable the Security Controls for a smooth integration with Emma and the best Legal Due Diligence experience possible.
