Categorize a single document

How to change the categorization of a document if the AI assigned it to the wrong document type

Written by Pieter Buteneers

Emma uses AI to automatically categorize every document in your data room into a document type from your Information Request List (IRL). In most cases the AI gets it right, but if a document has been assigned to the wrong document type you can correct it manually.

Changing the categorization from the document viewer

Open the document you want to re-categorize. In the top right of the viewer, click the pencil (edit) button.

This opens the categorization wizard where you can search for and select the correct document type.

Changing the categorization from the IRL view

You can also recategorize a document directly from the Documents page without opening the viewer:

  1. Go to Documents and make sure you are in the IRL view.

  2. Select the document type the file is currently assigned to.

  3. In the Documents tab, find the file and click the menu icon on its row.

  4. Choose Categorize to open the categorization wizard.

Changing the categorization from the Folder view

In the Folder view, click the menu icon on any file row and choose Categorize.

If you need additional help categorizing documents or encounter any other problem, don't hesitate to reach out through the chat bubble in the bottom right or contact [email protected].
