In the video below we'll show you an overview of all the features in the Documents page. For more details we refer you to the linked articles.

Archive file upload and extraction

Emma supports uploading archive files to the Documents page. The following archive formats can be uploaded:

  • Zip archives (.zip)

  • 7z archives (.7z)

  • Rar archives (.rar)

  • Tar archives (.tar)

  • Gzip-compressed tar archives (.tar.gz, .tgz)

  • Bzip2-compressed tar archives (.tar.bz2)

  • XZ-compressed tar archives (.tar.xz)

  • Gzip archives (.gz)

When you upload any of these archive formats, Emma automatically extracts their contents. Each extracted file inside the archive is ingested individually and appears as its own document entry. The original archive file itself is not stored in the Documents list—only its contents will appear after extraction.

If an uploaded archive is password-protected, Emma will not extract its files and will mark it as an unsupported document type in your Documents list.
