The Access management page lets you control who can access a specific data room and what they can do in it. To get there, go to Settings > M&A data rooms, select a data room, and open the Access management tab.
Data room roles
Each person in a data room is assigned one of the following roles:
Deal Responsible — full access to the data room. Can invite new members, change roles, and remove people from the data room.
Contributor — full access to the data room. Cannot manage membership.
Domain Contributor — access to the Overview and Documents pages, but only for the specific areas assigned to them. Useful for subject-matter experts who review a defined scope. When inviting a Domain Contributor, you must select which areas they can access.
Report Viewer — can view the final report only. No access to underlying documents or the workspace.
Inviting members
Click Invite member to add someone to the data room. Enter their email address, select a role, and send the invitation.
If you select Domain Contributor, an additional step lets you choose which areas the person can access.
Members of your organization who are not yet in this data room appear in the Suggested section, making it quicker to invite known colleagues.
Importing members from another data room
Click Import from data room to copy members from an existing data room. Select the source data room, choose the people to import, and confirm. Imported members are added as invitations with the same roles they hold in the source data room.
Managing existing members
Each member entry shows their name or email, their role, and a role badge.
Edit — change the member's role or, for Domain Contributors, update their area assignments.
Remove — remove the member from the data room. They lose access immediately.
Pending invitations
Invitations that have not yet been accepted appear in the Invitations section.
Resend — send the invitation email again. You can resend once every 60 seconds.
Cancel — revoke the invitation.
