Authorized domain

Let anyone with a matching email domain join your organization automatically

Written by Paul Gaston GOURON

The Authorized domain setting lets you allow anyone whose email address belongs to a specific domain to join your Emma organization automatically — without needing an individual invitation. To access this setting, go to Settings > Organization settings > Authorized domain.

How it works

Once you authorize a domain (for example lawfirm.com), anyone who signs up or logs in to Emma with an email address ending in that domain is automatically added to your organization as a User. They do not need an individual invitation — matching the domain is enough. This fully automates onboarding for members of your organization with qualifying email addresses.

This feature is particularly useful for larger teams where managing individual invitations is impractical.

Adding a domain

  1. Enter the domain in the field provided (e.g. lawfirm.com). Do not include @ or https://.

  2. Click Add more if you need to authorize additional domains.

  3. Click Save.

Removing a domain

Click the trash icon next to a domain to remove it. Once removed, new users with that domain will no longer be added automatically. Existing members who joined through that domain remain in your organization.

Important notes

  • Authorized domains grant the User role only. If a member requires Admin access, they must be promoted manually under Organization members.

  • Be careful when authorizing broad or generic domains (such as those shared outside your team). Anyone with an email at that domain will be able to join your organization automatically.
