The Documents page is the main hub for reviewing all documents in your data room. It has two views — IRL and Folder — switchable with the toggle at the top of the page. This article covers the IRL view.
What is the IRL view?
The IRL (Information Request List) view organises your documents by document type and area, following the structure of your IRL. This makes it easy to see which document types have been provided, which are missing, and how your review is progressing across the entire data room.
The document type sidebar
The left sidebar shows all areas in your IRL. Each area is collapsible and contains the document types that belong to it.
At the top of the sidebar you will find the Unclassified section — this shows documents the AI was not able to categorize automatically. Addressing unclassified documents ensures your IRL progress is accurate.
Each document type displays status badges at a glance:
In scope / Out of scope — whether the document type is part of your current due diligence scope
GAP status — whether the document type is marked complete or incomplete
Document count — how many documents are assigned to the type
Use the Filters button to narrow down which document types are shown. See Filtering documents for the full list of filter options.
Selecting a document type
Click any document type to open it in the main pane. The detail view has four tabs:
Documents — a scrollable list of all files assigned to this document type. Each row shows the file name, categorization badges, jurisdiction, review status, and any processing warnings. You can select multiple files for bulk actions (review, reclassify, delete).
Key Terms — the AI-extracted properties for this document type. You can add, edit, or reorder properties here, and generate new ones with AI. For more detail, see the Properties article.
Matrix — an embedded version of the full Matrix table, scoped to this document type. For a full explanation of the Matrix, see the Matrix collection.
Key Issues — a table of the most significant findings across all documents in this type. Each row shows the file, its highest risk badge, the reviewers, a short summary, and any document-level recommendations.
Selecting an area
Click an area name (without expanding it) to see the area overview table. This table shows every document type in the area with three columns:
Gap Analysis — complete, incomplete, or out of scope
Reviewed — percentage of documents reviewed
Risks — a visual distribution of risk levels across the area
Click a row to drill into a specific document type. Click the risks bar to jump directly to the Matrix tab for that type.
Managing your IRL
Use the Manage IRL button at the top of the sidebar to:
Create a new document type or area
Import an IRL from another data room
Export your IRL to Excel
To configure individual document types in more detail — add properties, write descriptions for the AI, or remove types from your IRL — see Managing your Information Request List.
Bulk actions
Select multiple document types in the sidebar to perform bulk operations: add or remove from the IRL, move to a different area, mark GAP complete or incomplete, or mark all documents as reviewed or unreviewed.
